Ok i was driving in the moutains the other day. Eveyrthing was fine. The next day i noticed my steering didnt feel rite. After noticing that i heard the ttire sqeeling after only 25 mph. Had it checked out and they said it was that the left control arm was bent. The steering is way off and the car almost seems to steer itself. PLease help me out. Does anyone how much these parts can be gotton for/where.? does this seem like the problem? Happened to anyone? thanks

what the hell did you hit? bending a control arm isnt very easy. you probably damaged more than a control arm. likly youll need a wheel bearing, maybe tie rod link or ends, probably a wheel,(especaily the 5 spokes, as they bend easy)
bending a control arm takes a large inpact,l not exactlyt somthing you dont notice.
if you can get the car in the air replacing a cont. arm is basicly easy, but wheel bearings youll need a press.
call insurance company.

Cost me $400 to get it fixed with the cost of the part. I hit a pothole and instantly noticed it. You don't know how it could have happened?

warrenty wont cover that. If the control arm is bent, its from an impact of some type, and thus is accident damage, not the manufactures fault.

control arms arent that much. maybe about 60 bucks. When i got into my accident i bent 2 control arms. Upper and lower, wheel bearing, tie rod link, and a steering knuckle. All that was about 200 somthin in parts. The part you should worry about bending the the rear cross member! that part is 500 bucks alone! Mine was bent but it was able to be machine pulled back out. 8)

All that was about 200 somthin in parts. The part you should worry about bending the the rear cross member! that part is 500 bucks alone! Mine was bent but it was able to be machine pulled back out. 8)

wow that seems pretty cheap.

for the above question its very odd you just bent the control arm. most of the time you also hurt the front cross member also. consider your self lucky for the minimal damage good luck in your repairs

I hit a pot hole in Philly one LATE Sat. night and bent the [email protected]#t out of my passenger side front suspension. Called Al's Auto Inc. in Trevose PA and they sold me all the lower suspension pieces off a rear ended 2001 IS for 75.00!!!!
Installed the parts myself, got an alignment and saved a ton of cash. I did get a estimate on the damage from True2Form collision which was crazy!

Okay Took my car to a specialist and it was the damn alignment. Couldnt belive it when he told me. When the wheel was strieght the left tire was normal, but the right side was tricked slightly out. Enough to notice. I took it to the closest place i could find when i first took it in because it was getting hard to drive. That place was Firestone™. Thank god alignment cost me only 60 bucks. Guy said it was really really off. haha No shiat

$60? I just bought an upper for $200. $90 less than dealer. Lower is a little less...but still expensive.

I bought one from a junkyard for my 90 laser for $60.
