No not really.AntzLexusIS said:Yessir this is what the whining noise we all speak of. I think by changing out the fluid it goes away. Or so members have said?

I use Amsoil and it whines. The OEM shifter is filled with a rubbery sound deadening material which is why it is quiet....the B&M is solid metal. No not really.
I have redline mt-90 tranny fluid and it still whines.
I put some dynamat around the shifter stalk and it helps with some of the chatter and noise, but it does not eliminate it all.

As you are rolling to a stop at say 15-20mph...
push clutch
go to neutral
blip accel
push clutch
go to 1st gear...it will effortlessly pop into gear when the revs match.
you can do this heel and toe or just the regular way and it does take practice.
I had this problem with the first B&M shifter I had...It would twist a little bit.Seven said:A question for you all. I've been working with B&M now for a month, because of this problem: The shift knob twists a bit left and right. It was really bad at first, but they send me a new main shaft for the shifter and that seemed to help a bit. Part of the problem with it being a multi-piece shaft, is that it has gaskets between the main shaft, and the top shaft that slips over it. The pin used to connect those two together also has gaskets in it.
Anyone else with the B&M have this problem?
