Well guys, I'm beginning to think about Auto-Cross season already. My car is at SRT getting some more goodies and a new tranny. I'm also thinking about getting a ball bearing turbo for quicker spool up.

But with all this power, brakes, and my full suspension, it won't matter without good tires.

I'd like to use the stock 17s, so if I do, what tires do you recommend? Sizes, brand, etc...Or should I buy another set of rims - 16s and get tires for those...?

Thanks for the opinions!

FALKEN AZENIS!!! is your track friend, not recommended for street driving, while it is still a legal street tire, you'll get owned in the rain.

I have heard good things about the Kumho MX tires. I know several people who are switching from Falkens to Kumhos this season. I have heard that the Kumhos do not heat up as much, and are much better in the rain. I have also heard a lot of good things about the Falkens. I have narrowed my choice down to the Falken Azenis and Kumho MX. I have a month to make a final decision.

I would get a set of 16", and put a set of Khumo Vitoracers, or hoosiers.

Would these (Kumho Ecsta V700's) be good on the stock 17s, or should i get a set of 16s? If so, what size should I get?

17's

225/45 17 because of the shorter sidewall they are more responsive. Esp. for auto X where response is key. Keep the weight down with the SSR Comps and I you will post fast times.
