hello all,

well after some research, i found the IS300 model car from FUJIMI...the one that is being sold on ebay, from a japan company for only $19.00 plus shipping (usually around $30.00 total with shipping)

I ordered mine and received it really fast considering it was shipped from japan.

here is the IS300

Here is a Altezza with a body kit (looks really cool to build)

I got the model this week and it only took 8 days to get it!! I was really surprised since it usually takes that long to get stuff from california let alone all the way from japan. I cant wait to get it finished!!!

Impressions of Fujimi 1/24th IS200/IS300 Kit

Well, I got my kits a few days ago, and here's what what I think:

A. The level of detail is pretty good for a Fujimi 1/24th scale car. But it's no Tamiya. Not even close.

B. It's interesting that both bumpers are molded separate from the body shell. I assume that's to facilitate two things:

1. Modularity. The extra TRD-front-bumper-foglight-lenses hints at this.

2. Facilitation of chromed headlight/tailight inserts. But Tamiya can pull the same thing off with a one-piece body shell.

C. The flush door handles suck.

D. The lack of a center headrest is easily-noticed.

E. No moonroof.

F. Side markers need to be shaved to reproduce the US-spec IS300.

G. Recess for the front license plate will have to be puttied and reformed in order to do the common clean-front-look.

H. Center console between the seats looks strange.

I. A more scale antenna can be heat-drawn, but molding the antenna base on the antenna makes this a difficult one-shot deal.

J. Rim/tire/gap/body ratios are actually fairly close to that of the actual vehicle, which is a definite improvement over the Fujimi 1/24th Integra Type-R I did once.
