I am looking at these two as well as used M3 or S4. I'm leaning toward getting a new car - so the BMW and Audi are probably out

The WRX and IS300 are different in many ways, but they both feel like performance cars. Also, I haven't driven a 5sp IS300 yet - drove a auto this summer.

I did but the WRX interior is the pits and the STI is supposed to be coming here. Plus Subaru wants too much on a lease and the rim option is way too expensive.

i think alot of us considered it. I had a 2k accord wrx to far below it in the nicessities for me.

Get a 01 S4 with a 6 spd. 02 A4's are rolling in right now so you can get some incredible deals on a 01 S4. Same for our IS. My friend just picked up a WRX wagon, his A4 was rear ended. That is an incredibly fast ride bone stock. But again the usual issues of being ugly and cheap in terms of quality of materials etc. I personally would not trade in my IS for a WRX however I would definitely trade in my IS for a S4 6spd. I am gonna hold out for a G35 or Z, need to see what else is coming down the pipeline.

I actually opted for the WRX.

The IS is a great car, but I wanted a FAST car that was fun to drive, and IS had a lot of features that I didn't want I certainly didn't want to pay for.

As for the WRXs looks. Hey to each his own, but the WRX certainly does grow on you.

I did, but in the end the handling of the WRX put me off.

Nothing more fun, IMO, than a RWD car tuned for sport...

That being said, that WRX has one helluva stonking motor. It very much reminds me of our Saab. Lotsa power, slightly gritty and hoarse... But pulls like a freight train.

Just depends upon what cooks your goose!

There isn't even a comparison between the level of luxury and the amount of looks you will get in your IS compared to that piece of crap that you mention (WRX). You won't be dissapointed with a Lexus, it just doesn't happen.
