I'll going to the dealership this weekend to check it out, if I get the time.

Its supposed to have a much better interior than the current model. Lets see if thats true.

Some people say it looks very much like the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra wagon from the rear, but I guess all bread & butter cars have similar designs.

BTW, the US version of Corolla is supposed to have a different design, as will Asia and Europe.

looks like a mazda mpv. and i don't understand why you guys laugh at 180hp. gawd, i haven't seen a is300 that has beaten a celica gts. and i think 100hp per liter is pretty good. just like my si.

I looked up the Japanese Corolla web site as well as a HK magazine. To me, the rear end of the new Corolla sedan looks like a Avalon or a Prius whereas the side looks like a combination of IS300 and Prius. The door handles are definitely IS300/RX300 type.

It seems that Toyota really likes the black window frame design as well as the omission of the rubber sealing between the front and rear door (instead, it has the top part of the Pillar B being painted black).

I like the new Corolla much better than the current one. The front is better than the new Civic, IMO.

I saw a pic of the new Corolla sedan on the Supra forum and I thought the back looked like Accord tail lights and the body looked like a Neon. I didn't like it at all. This wagon looks like a van almost. But I kinda like the front.

The overall shape reminds me of the Focus wagon in the U.S.

On a side note, this wagon also comes in AWD, but not with the 180 hp VVTL-i engine.

Is this the Japanese/Asian model?? I know that for 2001, the US is only getting slightly redone lights and upgraded interior.
When do they plan on bringing one of these, in sedan form, to the US??
It seems like a great deal, with a 180hp engine...the interior and exterior seem nice too.
