Hello all
Last week I picked up a 2009 IS-F in Ultrasonic Blue. Very low miles-under 17,000 mi. It still smells new! Obviously, I love it! So far I have a K & N Typhoon Intake. I'm about to install the beat-Sonic NT3203 Navi/DVD bypass. On order is Vaistech SL3i iPod interface. Future mods include; Borla cat-back, paint protection and tints. maybe more, I dunno yet. A lot of good tech info and DIY's here. Looking forward to getting more involved...;) If this crappy weather ever clears up I'll get some pics.

You sure the SL3i is compatible with ML? I thought you needed MML, unless your car does not have a Levinson system?

Also if you upgrade to the iVIC, you will not need the Beatsonic

..although I could be wrong......just double check, before you spend the money.

Forgive me, as I am new to the ISF. I am still learning features, specs & nomenclature. I don't know the difference between ML & MML. I think I have the 5th Gen Nav. I have installed the SL3i and it works, so if you could point out the differences I would appreciate it. ;)

Your IS F should have a Mark Levinson (ML) stereo system, with DVD player...but some early models came without the ML systems, and just have a normal stereo system in it.

I'd be interested in hearing about your install... once you can confirm if you have the ML system or not. That is to say functionality of the iPod controls and touch screen

I currently have the Beatsonic bi-pass, but no Viastech

Diggs, I have the Mark Levinson Premium sys, w/DVD. The Viastech is at the end of the Beat-Sonic Daisy chain-closest to the harness end. The iPod emulates as one of the CD slots in the changer. I can still watch DVD's & play CD's. In order to view the folders & files I have to press the bypass button for the Beat-Sonic. Sometimes it can take 30 sec or so to bring up folder/file names. This is probably because I have well over 10K songs and 2.5K to 3K artists. As far as I can tell no playlists folders show up, only artists folders. I have a 160GB iPod Classic. You can get detail on the song being played, but no artwork. Give me a few days (if this friggin rain ever stops) and I will post up some screenshots.

Hey guys -
I'm a new ISF owner (2008) as well and haven't thought about any mods but the beatsonic bypass and SL3i sound like great options. Are the installs relatively easy? If you have any pics yet that'd be great to see!
Thanks.

The Beat-Sonic is simply a set of cables that plug in between the radio & harness. Very easy to do, about a 1/2 hour or so.
The SL3i plugs in between the Beat-Sonic & radio as well. The SL3i has a small interface box that can fit easily under the center console. Do it all at once and save some time.
