Altezza --> IS200 ---> IS300

Forgive me if this has been covered, but with all the problems you guys are experiencing, can anyone give an explanation why they didn't catch these problems before the IS came to the states? (driving conditions, manufacturing plants, etc...) Is the IS300 really that different from the 200 or the Altezza? Maybe Im the only one thinking about this but I would think they would catch the problems in the other two models since they came out a while before the IS300.

Given that the 2JZ-GE engine on this car is not available in JDM and not yet available in Europe, given that people from different places drive differently, and given that most people are incredibly arrogant to think their problems are everyone else's, I can see why. No offense, my reply is just out of frustration of seeing all the stupid posts lately -- "geez, the IS will suck from now on," "WRX -- IS killer," "[Name a car] vs. IS300," and so on, and so on, and so on.

Blech!
I see, well Im not trying to bash the car, and its true that driving conditions are different everywhere, but I just don't get why they couldn't fix something like the cd jamming problem, and I realize that not everyone experiences this problem as well, but I just though it was someting to think about.

Yes.. but the CD changer (the OEM, or the particular model) may be unique to this market. What is so obvious to one, is not quite so to another. That's what makes life so interesting.

But in fairness, yes, it's annoying to have CD player problems, or the undercarriage falls off, etc.
I think a few IS200 i heard of in Australia have the CD changer problem.. as for me.. no problem with my IS200 after 2 years..
hi
i must admit here in the uk the undertray problem is unheard of,i wonder if it will occur when we get the is300 later in the year.
also as regards to the transmission hesitation,not heard of with the 1RZ engine.
the cd player jamming is a known fault but most of the time is 'pilot' error ie people not waiting for the load message to flash and putting them in too quick.
