Has anyone got the "alert" msg on your Lexus stereo system?
I was driving around a parking lot with my CD playing. Then suddenly the CD player stopped for 2 sec then switched to FM with a msg saying "ALERT"

What was that all about?

I think it has something to do with the RDS system that the IS300 radio supports. The 'alert' was probably some traffic report alert. Read the manual to determine how to shut off the RDS features.

Agreed, it's RDS. Amazing what you can find out by *reading the manual!*

yes it's RDS. I think it is similar to the radar detectors warning information. Try pressing the MSG button there may be a message.
