I called up my company (Allstate) to see what it would be and it's actually cheaper than my Civic. $138/mo (6-mo policy, $500 collision ded. & $250 comprehensive ded.), state mins. on coverage. That includes a 5% driver's school discount for NY as well as a 5% discount for having renter's insurance through them. I'm also a Premier Plus member (a NICE $192/6-mo savings).
I'm 19, *had* a clean slate when I joined with them but have since then incurred 2 tickets (speeding & failure to obey traffic device). They won't know about those though unless they pull my record again (very unlikely).
I really enjoy them, I go through a local agent and it's very personable service. They know me and I know them by name.
I'm 34 my wife is 30 we are paying about 2100/year for full coverage (deductable: 250 col and 100 comp) for 2001 is300, 1999 eddie b explorer, and 1987 accord (my daily commuter). My wife is in a van pool and usually drives the van so the lex and the explorer usually sit in the garage.
I just got a quote b/c I'm in the initial part of my search for a new car. The IS is on the top of my list as of this time. Before I test drove in fell in love, I got a quote. My insurance quoted me at 636 for the year. Sounds great compared to the rest of the people my age and gender (25 and male.) Of course I haven't been in an accident since I was 16 or any tickets at all. My insurance company also said I have a preferred status and some extra 9% off for my driving record. It is actually only $132 more than my current late model Grand Am 4 cyl.
Turning 21 and just got my new quote, 100,000/300,000 coverage, $250col, $100comp, $5,000 med. No tickets, no accidents, $225 a month for 10 months, which is pretty good for a rear wheel drive car up here in new hampshire especially for the winter...
