A new breed of racers

So I'm sitting at a light and to my right a bunch of teenie bopper girls in a Focus ohhing and ahhing the new car. Then I hear someone honk. Who is it?...to my left is a on old grand pappy (looked to be 60+ yrs old) in a nice clean black Cadilac Seville, Northstar w/chromed Cadilac rims. He had on them green sun glasses that look like machine shop type goggles/glasses. He complements my car and asks how fast it is and how much and if the car just came out cuz he's never seen an IS300. All proud, I tried to answer his questions but right in the middle of my response, the light turned green and man...this old guy hit on it and just tooook off! All you could hear is his engine rev and his screeching tires..Caught me wayyy off guard. I actually was scared/surprised of the screeching sound as I didn't expect it by the time I realized what grandpa was doing it was too late, I was left sitting at the light. My wife in the passenger seat is laughing silly at me as I was just badly smoked by a grandpa...and the teenie boppers in the Ford Focus...same deal..just giving snickering looks.

I rememeber when I had my Eclipse Spyder (16G turbo, front mount intercooler, etc) and ITRs, Civics, and Mustanks would always annoy and rev at me at stop lights. But now with a Lexus, I got BMWs, Audi's, Mercedes, and Cadilacs taking notice. With these more upscale cars you also getting a new breed of people such as grandpa and his Cadddy.

Come back grandpa....let's do this again!

LOL!!

Sounds Like Old Gran-Paw set you up!!

Yea, this car gets ALOT of attention.

Was picking my 15yr old up from School the other day. He has his permit so I let him jump in and drive me and his 7yr old brother home.
We did all this in front of his peers!

Man, they were in AWE!!!!

And he really ate the attention up.

that's funny as hell. Similar thing happened to me. 60+ guy and his wife in a green cadillac took me by surprise when they floored it as the light turned green. I was literally left with tire smoke.

My lane was going to merge, so I guess grandpa did not feel like giving up his lane to some punk in his GSR.
This must be a trend with "Nursing Home Enthusiest" I got smoked by by Lincoln Mark VIII. I got to give to them... Only GOD knows where I will be then.
What's that on your shoe?

Pull my finger!
Hmm...don't Mark VIII's use the same 4.6L V8 as the Mustang? I wonder if anyone put a supercharger in one of those yet...

You sure you want to race again? Most of them are faster to 60 than your IS300.

Gotta love the irony coming from a Honduh guy!

What irony?? It was an IS, a Cad and a Focus...there was no honda in the mix there. Irony that an acura/honda guy saying that Cads might be faster than an IS? Guy didn't say his acura/honda was faster than the IS now did he? If you don't have anything contructive to add to the thread don't say anything at all or did anyone not teach you if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all?
Cmon both of you... ST, he's right in saying that the Caddy's Northstar V8!!! would prolly pull an IS. And as for the Honda guy, I dunno, are you overly defensive because you are insecure? let it go.

GPR - although I agree that ST is stretching this time to make someone else look dumb, you could have said it more tactfully.

Either way, just get along fellas.

As for the post, I've noticed different types revving on me, Maxima's and E-series... I can remember. But Since I got the rims, it kinda opens me up to anyone, eclipses, civics, integras, probes... all sorts of cars look for fights.

I'm just tired of hearing Honda this Acura that. No one even brough up honda or acura, then outta no where just cause the guys handle is has something to do with Acura, someone has to post something like that. Everyone has a right to their own opinion but come on, I would expect the moderators to actually moderate comments that could cause some flaming.
I've got enough to do to try to keep the swearing and name calling off the board. Sorry that we are overrun by the Honda crowd. Hopefully they will get bored (maybe they should watch the Radical Contest commercial) and go away.

GPR - Get a clue..I was joking in the same manner he was..hence the
... duh! You gonna threaten me again..lol! Sensitive little BASTARD aren't ya? ;P Tell me EXACTLY what was so constructive about HIS post..hehe.

FMA - Is there anything wrong with a good ribbing once in a while? Who's the insecure one now?
I can't understand why ya'll keep these on bench racing and hang out on "other people's forums" and argue every little point a guy says, but hey..that's your pathetic life, not mine

BTW> FMA - You mentioned you like a "hard" ride with disregard to comfort...why the TL then? It is one of the softest cars out there...but hey, don't take it as a flame..i like the car too, especially when the TL-S comes, albeit it makes even more wannabes out on the streets thinking they can smoke Z28's, Supras, and the likes...jeez! YOu may wanna stick to those "lowly" Maximas!
