Is anyone else having a problem with their six-disc cd player? I just got my IS a few weeks ago and i was driving yesterday and the thing ate my cd. Now i have to take it in for service. For some reason, when the cd player went to change discs, something went wrong and it started makin all kinds of crazy noises.

This actually happened to lots of people, including me. Here is my thread:

I’ve since replaced the whole unit at the dealer for no cost, and still am waiting for them to extract and mail me my CD.

Here is also a few (not all) other threads with similar objective:

Hope this helps.

This is how I tend to resolve this matter when it happens to me and it works... at least for me.

1)You should be able to select the other CD's
and they should play if only one CD is giving you an ERROR.

2)eject all the CD's that you are able to play, one by one leaving the CD that is giving you an ERROR for last.

3)Once all the CD's are out eject the final one(the one that was giving you an error)it should eject right out.

4)Then re-load all 6 CD's to reset the error
message.

For some reason when there is an ERROR on a CD in the changer, you cannot eject it until all the other 5 cd's are ejected first. I had this problem several times and this seems to be the solution that always works. I think it has to do with the internal configuration of the headunit. I think it gets "confused" so by ejecting all other CD's and have it deal with just one seems to work but if all CD's are jammed you might have a problem good luck let me know if this helps.

And another thing.
The CD Player in the IS300 is very delicate.
The best way to operate the player is Always.

#1. Give the Player Time to actually start Playing Music before you Do ANY COMMANDS whatsoever.

#2. I realize this may take a few more seconds but I think its worth the wait.

#3. We have had NO problems with our's.

#4. From the first time I heard the Mechanical Goings On inside this Player I knew it should not be Rushed be patient with it.

#5. I gave the wife a Class on operating the CD player before she ever used it.

LOL! I got heat for wanting to school my wife on driving the IS. You're schooling yours on how to use a CD player in one? I feel the flames from Seattle Shelia coming already!

Thanks guys, i made an appointment will my dealer to go get it checked out. I tried some of the things you all told me to do, but the one cd is lost in my cd player. The circles on the right that light up when a cd is in the player disapeared in cd number 6. So i guess it's a bigger problem then just a jam

Well, I held off for a few HOURS! GRRRR!
Actually, I've not had any trouble with the CD player. But then, I DO have patience with it and treat it nicely. I ACTUALLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! I did get a bad CD and had to return it...crackled all over the place like a scratched up LP...oh, you guys are almost too young to remember LPs...
