After picking up the new '08 ISF a week ago (3/14/08), I decided it was time to put it to the test w/ just 600 miles on the odo. Since the TX2K8 Supra Nationals were in town, I headed over to Lonestar Motorsports Park on Saturday. My goal was to atleast obtain the fastest magazine 1/4 mi timeslip so far and the mission was accomplished. After a few passes by me, I handed the ride over to my tuner 'SRT Mo' who was able to knock out three consecutive 111 mph runs.. the fastest one being a 12.89 pass.

Here's the breakdown:

Reaction - 1.49
60 FT - 2.04
1000 ET - 10.85
1/4 ET - 12.89
1/4 MPH - 111.66

With these preliminary results, it's almost certain that someone will soon knock out a 12.6-12.7 timeslip w/ proper launch and optimal conditions. As for the video, don't worry it'll be posted soon.

How'd you do versus the 3 series? On my BMW forum a guy with a 3 series said he went against an IS-F in the 1/4th mile and beat it every time >.<

most likely chipped with exhaust, intake, stuff like that. Hope we can get headers, exhaust, x pipe, and other goodies for the IS-F...then we can see what a modded IS-F can do...;)

There were 7 total is-f runs. First four were me against Peter's modded 335i:

Run 1) Left car in auto w/ regular trac off and sport mode on.. gunned it on 3rd yellow and then towards the end (i thought) of the track i tapped the brakes prematurely cause I didn't realize the sign post wasn't the 1/4 mi marker.. it was a 1/8 mi marker (unlike baytown). First bad run.. only did a 13.30 @ 92mph. Peter's 335i did 13.02 @ 106mph.

Run 2) Left car in auto again w/ reg trac off and sport mode on.. gunned on 3rd yellow and did a 13.09 @ 110mph. Peter's 335i did 13.01 @ 106mph. This was my only semi-decent run in auto.

Run 3) Put car in manual mode, did reg trac off and sport mode on. Light turned green, I gunned it and forgot to manually shift. Bad run. I did a 14.54 @ 107mph. Peter's 335i did 13.07 @ 105 mph.

Run 4) Put car in manual mode, did reg trac off and sport mode on. Light turned green, gunned it and shifted from 1st to 2nd.. wheels broke loose and never caught traction. Bad run. I creeped down the runway and got a 22.40 @ 58mph, lol. Peter's 335i did 13.19 @ 105mph.

Run 5) I handed the car over to SRT Mo. He made his first pass ever in an is-f and managed a 13.07 @ 111mph using manual mode, reg trac off, sport mode on. The competitor was a different car and it did a 11.96 @ 119mph.

Run 6) SRT Mo behind the wheel again, does same thing and managed a 12.92 @ 111mph. This one had a different competitor which ran a 13.68 @ 70mph.

Run 7) SRT Mo makes his final pass, does a 12.89 @ 111mph. I believe the competitor here was a bpu mk4 supra and that ran a 13.31 @ 118mph.

As for Peter's 335i, it has the upgraded SSTT chip which picks up 49.6 rwhp and 52.1 rwtq over stock. His best run was a 12.84 pass which was earlier in the morning when track temp was still in the low 80s as opposed to the 100s in the mid afternoon. Both Peter and I will probably check out another drag strip next time around (Baytown's Houston Raceway). It'll be on a weekend night in the next month or so. :)

it must be a traction issue.you should put some drags on the rears so you bite.

Found something interesting, now let's take a look at the results from an average consistency standpoint of the top three runs from each vehicle that day:

IS-F Stock (1 Week Old)

1) 12.8923 @ 111.66 mph
2) 12.9296 @ 111.14 mph
3) 13.0708 @ 111.44 mph
---------------------
AVG 12.96 @ 111 mph

*********************

335i Chipped (6 Months Old?)

1) 12.8453 @ 108.23 mph
2) 13.0153 @ 106.56 mph
3) 13.0201 @ 106.64 mph
---------------------
AVG 12.96 @ 107 mph

It looks like they're practically dead even!! =|
