I'll be there this saturday to watch the qualifying. If I do see it, I'll try to take the pictures and post up here.
BTW, we are talking about TRD here, they have alot of stuff in their hands they usually don't like to tell people.
It will be on ESPN this Sunday starting at 2:30pm ET. Watch it, it should be a great race. If you have never watched a CART race before, you should start. These races on the Super Speedways are just great with the Hanford Device.
hmm, this is kind of off topic, but you think anyone out there will attempt to drop a Champ Car TRD engine into the IS? 900+ hp at the shaft!
The engine is actually smaller than the one in the IS right now and weights probably 100 or so lb lighter, the only problem is that the turbocharger is huge (T06 turbo means nothing when put next to these beast) so there may not be a place to fit them.
Anyone want to take on this project?
So despite repeated denials of a TRD supercharger coming from TRD themselves, there is in fact an SC for the IS! Maybe a release of the non-warranty voiding blower will be sooner than we all think!
Muhhamed from Swift says the IS300 S/C should be ready by the middle of January. I hope that the S/C doesn't unravel the cars handling too much. I know when you add more power you have to add stuff to balance out the power, ie brakes, suspension, trasmission, etc.
I heard that TRD is on their 3rd motor with that car. They keep blowing them up trying to get it working right. Supposedly they took some press out before the race and trashed one motor so it wasn't able to actually pace the race.
Hmm, doesn't that just sound familiar. TRD blowing up motors? Wow, what a surprise.
You guys should ask CART teams what they called the Toyota motors before the 2000 season. They really need to buy out Yamaha, and have all their engine people do the tuning.
