Just an FYI for anyone out there...

I put an set of 245 40 17's on the back of my SC400 with my Sportcross 7.5" wheels and WOW what a mess the car became....

The car feels so slushy/ rubbery now... way to much flex in the sidewall moving from side to side.

I ran the tire presure up to 36lbs and it didnt feel better.... ran it up to 44lbs (max psi) and its "bearable".

Rather than try 235's I think I am going to source some wider rims....

ttyl all

i have 245/40R17 on an 8" wide wheel
245/40 would need a minimum of an 8" wide wheel.
the max tire i would fit on an 8" wide wheel are 245/40
if that makes sense :)
the feel depends on the actual tires too. falkens run wider so you might have more over hang if you went w/ falken tires. also overall sidewall stiffness, usually 40series tires are pretty stiff.
