Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some help. I can't get the cooling fans to come on on my 2006 IS 250. My A.C also stopped working around the same time this happened. I've checked the thermostat, coolant temperature sensor and the 3 fan relays. They are all good. But when I unplugged the coolant temperature sensor the fans came on and stayed on no matter what temp the car was or if the A.C was on. I checked the resistance on the sensor and it is changing with the temperature rise. Still with it plugged back in the radiator fans will not come on. Also, the heat on the passenger side gets significantly warmer than on the driver's side. Any help would be appreciated.
If you have not done this stuff before. It may be better to take it to a mechanic. I could tell you a few things. But you can damage more if not careful.
Okay, Get or rent some A/c gauges and check the pressure. If it has pressure try temporarily bypass the pressure switch. If still nothing Try powering the A/C clutch manually. Start with that.
I appreciate your help Solar Yellow. I found the problem. The heat exchanger for the transmission was blocked solid with precipitate from the coolant. Seems the previous owner mixed two types of coolant in the car. While I was pulling the transmission I was able to clear the blockage and now all is good.
