I really like the look of it. Cadillac is really starting to go in a new direction. Here is the AutoWeek link:Cadillac CTS
The only thing I don't like so far is that the rear tail lamps look quite large, especially in comparison to the fronts. It is nothing to big though. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up to the IS300, A4, 330i, C320, and others. Hopefully it will be more sporty than the Catera was.
In metal, the car doesn't look as sleek (or as good, IMHO) as it does in the spy illustration. Check www.thecarconnection.com for actual GM photos online.
The car is also reviewed (and driven) in the new Automobile. A 5 speed manual is available, and the 3.2 liter V6 makes 220 hp. It's a bigger car than the IS, closer to the 530 or GS300, but it's 3-400 lbs lighter than the Catera. Cadillac says 0-60 in under 7 seconds.
The interior is pretty slick, as well; Cadillac seems to have finally shed the horrid generic GM interior.
It's a good effort, more complete than the Lincoln LS V6, I think. Too bad no V8 6 speed, though.
Me likes too. I just hope that it is not too heavy. I read somewhere that GM said the 0-60 time is under 7sec. Right now, Cadillac needs to make something that performs better than "The Usual Suspects" (BMW, IS300, Audi). They need 250hp with awd.
The new 3.2-liter V-6 is a re-engineered version of the Catera's 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 220 hp at 6000 rpm and 218 lb-ft of torque at 3400 rpm.
