Doesn't the name of this event just have a ring to it
If only it were true. Seriously, does anyone know if there will be any Lexus Performance Tours again this year. Lex is getting killed by BMW's Ultimate Driving Experience and Mercedes' Power Trip. Just got done with the Ultimate Drive---- It was pretty entertaining, but unlike last year's IS3's performance tour, they didn't let you drive the competition.

At any rate, does anyone have any inside information about any performance tours Lexus is doing this year???

Hah, I'd say getting information from Lexus is probably harder than Agent trying to enlarge his pecker. Unless it's officially announced, no one has a clue! Take a look at the amounts of unconfirmed information for the '02 model that's coming out in what, 3-4 months? I know more about the upcoming '02 Civic Type-R, among other cars!

Can't speak to Agent and his pecker,
But I will say it's probably unlikely Lexus is doing any sort of a tour this year. Since keeping it a secret would be the last thing the company would want to do for such an event. I just wish Lex would do something, at least to encourage us a bit... ya know???

I recently called 1800USALEXUS and spoke with a rep.. She told me there is no sort of event planned, at least not yet. She says they most likely only did it because it was a new model. Thats when I said what about the SC430? That's a new model, she understood what I was getting at and couldn't give me a better answer. Oh well we'll just have to wait.

Thanks for the call... Wish the agent could have given you better news. Perhaps a tour may be in the works, Lexus may be keeping it hush for everyone except their premiere customers? Maybe that's how they're luring more drivers to their SC430/LS430? Just a thought.

Don't lose heart, Edmunds is doing their Live event again this year (no dates yet), and will have the IS300 automatic at least. I don't think any automaker would do a manual event - not enough drivers can drive stick, and they'd wreck the trannies too.

Looks like you summed up most of the exterior visual changes. Do a search for 2002 and you should have more detail, perhaps even some pics... By the way, as you're probalby learning, it's gonna be a long wait til Sept. Especially with the 01's selling now near invoice.

Good point, a buddy of mine did the Edmunds live event last year. Said it was a good show! SPeaking of events, did you do the BMW Ultimate drive this year or the Mercedes event? I did BMW event, it was pretty impressive.

Michael, I haven't heard of any Mercedes tour, can you post info? I'm gonna do the BMW event in Sept. in Baltimore. The Lexus event was the best of them all, but I guess they're not doing it again.
Tell ya what, although you've probably already learned about the event, I'll give you info if you rate me and help me pickup a star
Guess I just don't post enough

At any rate: mbpowertrip.com is where you register. Those in SoCal have missed it I think. I'm in Chicago, still plenty of space here. Good Luck!
