2001 IS300 driver side window not going back up

Greetings. I recently replaced the master switch on the driver side because the auto button was a bit mushy. The car was turned on when i changed out the controller on the door. Not sure if this was the mistake. It worked fine immediately with the auto function. The button was crisp like it should. I pulled down the window and worked on something else. I came back like an hour later to realize that the driver side window won't go back up. I checked all the fuses and they are intact. Tried resetting the ECU by unplugging the battery and still not working. Tried plugging in the old mushy master controller and still doesn't work. By the way, all other windows minus driver side work from the master controller and also works from the controller on their respective doors. Any idea what happened here? This is super annoying. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The switch will not cause an issue like this. Your window may be getting too much drag. Lube the tracks. It may also be the window motor wearing out.

I just don't get why it would stop working after the master controller swap. It was working with the older switch. Only reason why i switched the master controller was because of the auto button felt a bit off; felt like the the inside spring was broken or something. It worked fine immediately after swapping it out with another master controller. But when i switched back to the old master controller to trouble shoot, it didn't work anymore.

Just a coincidence. More than likely a bad motor. But try to lube stuff first.

Took your advice and disassembled, cleaned and lubed motor/regulator. Worked right up without issues. But then, it stopped working again. It seems like it stops working if I turn off the vehicle with the window down (only front driver side). It locks up and doesn't work unless I diassemble and "reset" the motor and do the auto function.

Rest the range travel on the window. Basically do the relearn on the window.
Yup did that. I realized i had to do it when it i would use the auto function and once it reached the top, it would go back down a few. I diassembled then reset the motor and no issues. I just cant turn off my car with window fully down. Became a pro at taking it a part. It's just really annoying.

Not sure if its the regulator or motor. Once it really dies, i will replace both.

Wait what do you mean by rest the range control?

I think he meant "reset" not "rest".
