Hey everyone.

I’ve got a 03 is300 that I’ve been pondering at boosting/ swapping.
Obviously it’s got the stock 2jz Ge and I’m thinking of swapping in a 1jz I just can’t decide non vvti or vvti.
I’m trying to do it with the least amount of headaches as possible/ most cost effective.
Right now I’m just looking for a bit more power, nothing crazy yet but I miss having a boosted car.
Also from what I understand and read the 1jz is a direct drop in, no fab work or really anything extremely costly or time consuming(correct me if I’m wrong)
Anyone with info who’s done these exact swaps and can help me with a build list or anything you encounter along the way would be great.
Cheers

Do some searches on this site. There has been a couple of guys that have done the 1jz VVTI swaps, I would go with this over the non-VVTi since you need the DBW throttle body for the swap to work without going with a standalone ecu.

VVTI all day. Dont believe all the BS about "its hard to tune" or "good luck finding and ecu that works with it", thats all complete crap. Most standalones now tune VVTI easy.
