How can one be sure that a 16x7 rim will fit on my is300? The only thing I am worried about is the rim spokes hitting the calipers. Or am I just being stupid and all 16x7 rims will clear the calipers. Or is there another factor I am worried about? In case your wondering, the rims are ALT 190 (Seven Spoke), offset: 40, center bore: 73.2.

TIA

I got mine from a local dealer, with NYC store policies if you know I mean. But they did get all car info and the guy was knowledgable. I just wanna doublecheck.

I think your concern should be the correct offset of the wheels rather than the clearance of the calipers.....If you have the right offset, then you shouldn't have any problems.

Don't forget that 16" rims are a factory option, so there is no doubt that they'll fit on the car. You just need to made sure they're wide enough (7"?), offset, and bolt pattern are correct. Check with the tire dealer as they should know what'll fit your IS.
