115K miles and I think the engine is blown. I took it to a local garage and they told me definitely top end...a stuck shim or something like that. They opened up the top end and showed me some wear on the cams. It did not look too bad to me but I took their advise. There was a lot of carbon buildup and the head looked like it had 300K
I brought the car home and did the top end. Stock head job at Clearwater Cylinder, replaced some parts and buttoned it up. It starts on the second turn and low and behold...still knocking!
Next step, drop the engine on the floor and do the bottom end.
Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated?
