  1. Which bulbs for LED conversion in main dash cluster?

    Showroom
Although I'm very happy with how the project turned out, I can say that I feel I've done it about 3 times if not more as I was very picky about bulb choices. My advice is not to cheap out on the bulbs. What ended up being my top choice were Sylvania Super Bright 194 6000k LED bulbs for the...
  2. Which bulbs for LED conversion in main dash cluster?

    Showroom
Sounds like the 74 and T5 are a similar bulb from what I'm gathering. Just funny to see all these different bulbs referenced of course.
  3. Which bulbs for LED conversion in main dash cluster?

    Showroom
I did go to my local bulb shop today and bought a few bulbs, they labeled them as T bulbs. However, I had a bit of trouble with the bulbs doing the actual swap (disassembly was fine). I will go back tomorrow armed with the information provided and make sure they sold me the right bulbs (one of...
  4. Which bulbs for LED conversion in main dash cluster?

Hey guys, When searching around for this topic on My.IS, I find mainly really old threads like this one: https://www.my.is/threads/tutorial-diy-superstar-led-bulbs-in-main-gauge-cluster.291397/#post-4169397 When I search on YouTube it appears to be extremely straightforward to do this...
  5. Change the leather seats for cloth

    Showroom
Having just bought an IS300 with the OEM cloth seats I can tell you that they are a lot warmer than any of the other seats, meaning you don't need heaters. They are really amazing seats and grip you like no other. Get a set, they aren't even that expensive.
  6. New 1jz swap thread b/c others are retired

    Go Faster
Great thread, thanks to everyone who has contributed so far.
  7. Luxious Automotive aftermarket keys...any good?

    Showroom
I think the main concern I have with the Luxious option is that I'm not sure I really want the switchblade style fob. I definitely need to get another key made though.
  8. 2JZ NA-T on stock ECU (My experience)

    Go Faster
Tremendous thread, and very much food for thought. I have a bone stock IS300 5AT that I'd like to mildly build and the decision process is basically this: 1. Perform all needed maintenance and then do budget build on 2JZ-GE 2. Abandon stock 2JZ-GE and start with a 'fresher' 1JZ-GTE As I'm...
  9. Budget big brakes for IS300 - IS350 front calipers/rotors/pads

    Stop, Drop and Roll
Pretty crazy to find this thread I started after so many years. I ended up selling my first IS300 in early 2017 and so never finished the brake project, but another friend of mine did buy and install them (posted in this thread) and still has the setup on his car. I recently bought a new IS300...
  10. Best LED rear license plate bulb solution

    Showroom
You know it's honestly not as involved or difficult as I remembered. The hardest part for me this time around was the minor disassembly of the emergency trunk release (as I didn't want to break anything), but other than that it was truly a 15 minute job. I highly recommend using premium LED...
  11. Best LED rear license plate bulb solution

    Showroom
You may be surprised. The connector on these is pretty robust, and they are held in much better than normal bulbs...with better contact points too.
  12. Luxious Automotive aftermarket keys...any good?

    Showroom
    Thank you for your reply!
  13. Best LED rear license plate bulb solution

    Showroom
Yeah, I don't recall that angle either, but it works and does look good. I'll see it in the dark for the first time this morning when I take the car to work.
  14. Best LED rear license plate bulb solution

    Showroom
OK, I had the time and opportunity to swap these bulbs over and am very impressed with them, just as I recall being back in 2013. I've included a few before, during, and after shots so you can see them. Again, this literally cost me about $11, and was pretty easy to do as I watched a couple...
  15. Luxious Automotive aftermarket keys...any good?

    Showroom
Thanks to both, I do believe I'll take a chance on this as it seems practically unbeatable for the price.
  16. Luxious Automotive aftermarket keys...any good?

    Showroom
Thanks for the response, and that helps a lot as $70 is pretty affordable to give it a shot. Which switchblade style did you go with, and did you have to disassemble your door key assembly to get the key code for them? I don't have the original key documentation with the key code, so fear I do...
  17. Carbon Fiber Body Parts

    Showroom
From what I've been reading, at least for hoods the Seibon stuff fits fairly well. As others correctly said, you should never expect OEM quality from the aftermarket...meaning it's extraordinarily rare to get that. Even on stuff like TRD branded parts, which are not made by Toyota...they do...
  18. Wheel Fitment Spreadsheet!

    Wheels and Tires
This is awesome, thanks to all who contributed to it and it confirms a fitment issue (minor) that I had on my inherited 18x9.5 +35 setup on 225/40/18 tires up front. I've already traded that setup away and the new owner was able to make enough adjustments to his suspension to handle it with...
  19. Luxious Automotive aftermarket keys...any good?

    Showroom
Hey guys, My new-to-me 2001 Lexus IS300 came with just one key, as usual for me when I buy any used car it seems. I have determined that the key I have is indeed a master (not valet) key, but I do want to have another one made. Has anyone used Luxious and their switchblade style keys? The...
  20. Best LED rear license plate bulb solution

    Showroom
I'll keep you posted. I'm definitely eager to see if they are equivalent to the ones I had so long ago, which definitely impressed me. At least at the price points we are at now it's a cheap and easy experiment.
