Ha, I had a feeling that sucha cool car would live in a cool place. I work for Motorola in Austin TX, and attended a class in San Jose, I got there a day early and drove over to Santa Cruz found a great Burrito place and from there the lighthouse surf spot needless to say it was the best part of the trip. I can still remember the smell of the ocean and the surf & sea lions sounds. I went away thinking that has to be one of the coolest places around. If my wife and I ever drive out that way we'll look you for a drink or a drive.

I hate to tell you that I live just over the hill from SCruz and whenever I want to surf, it's an entertaining 20 mile drive over (and back) on twisty highway 17. ;-)
I especially like it in the early AM, when there's no traffic.....

Late post... but wanted to say damn that looks great, don't tell me you leave in Santa Cruz, there's just so much envy one can take.

Hey all, just saw on the lexus site that they have roof racks for the regular is300, no mention of sportcross. The system definetly looks different from the one I got.

actually, the $700 is cheap considering how badly the Yakima racks I had were chewing up my door seals

|unclehugi||They look great but are expensive: Around $700 US|

I've had the racks on for a while now, I don't notice any noise from the rails but I do notice some when I put the cross bars on (I'm using yakima hardware). Sorry Rob, the cars blue, board is white, but the board bag is silver does that help?
I gotta wash the toy before I take any pics - or maybe not, I could just go for the 'real world' affect.
:D :D :D

Post a picture with the board on it. I need new wallpaper :D . Damn I hope it's silver.

How is the rail setup going? Do hear any wind/air noise at speeds without anything attached to the rails?
It would be cool to see some pictures with and without your board (and cross bars).

The racks come with nice instructions (in Japanese), that have enough picture detail to make sense. The scariest part is cutting the rubber strip that runs in the drip molding. I checked before I started and new rubbers are available from the dealer ship for $160 per side.
Installation time for the first side was about 1 hour. I was being very paranoid. Second one was 30 minutes.
After installing the rails, I went to the SportsRack and picked up the 'Lowrider' adaptors to mount my Yakima cross bars on the rails.
Loaded up the surfboard this AM, and went to play in the ankle snappers..
Lexus should offer these things here!

I'll be interested to see how this goes, as I might be interested in something like that. Don't like the ones that tear up the weather stripping.
Looks like I'm not too far from you (I'm in Willow Glen area of San Jose) so maybe I'll see another SportCross on the road. So far haven't seen any in the Bay Area - seen a few (maybe three) in the LA area when I've been down there.

Ok, I the racks arrived and I'll be attempting an install this weekend.
I'll post the results and pics.
