Nice times... Supporting mods on each car? Suprising that a car with 8 less pounds is trapping 8mph more in the last 1/8th mile.

Both cars are capable of running in the 10's and even possible 9's. We had some transmission issues and I think SRT just needs more seat time to get the launch under control:-) BTW we weren't running 30psi. It was a fun time though.

Yeah Seat time is definitely needed in order to realize the true potential of such cars. That last time I was at the track was with ParcelPimp's car that holds the current record 3 years back. It was definitely fun though.

no doubt Ray...great job.....

really? how much boost was on Phil's car during the run and how much nitrous was used?

and Mo was running only 22 psi and trapped 138 MPH?

Phils' car was at about 26-27 psi, his setup only uses the nitrous upto 20psi and shuts off. On the one run we got the trans seemed to skip 4th and went straight to 5th from 3rd.

I believe the 22psi SRT claims, the boost pressure is all relative to how well everything is flowing as a complete package.

i dont doubt it marc, we all witnessed first hand the power he put down at those lower psi numbers(if you call low 20's lower). the car is running well and flows like a bitch

i was amazed at the throttle response as well.

Congrats to both Mo and Ray and the owners of the cars. Wish I could have stuck around until your second run but the waiting around was wearin on me. Glad to see both tuners in attendance.

Mo - did Kellan run again? His little acura is fast as shiiiiat! Funny how he ran out and raced two boosted turboeast cars.

Good job Mo and Ray.

Phil and Corey - You guys have some powerful rides. Please use caution and continue to drive them within the window you feel safe (even though I like to razz folks). When out on the street, keep them safely between the lines on the pavement. I would hate to lose such incredible cars (or drivers). We have seen several high HP IS's go to an early graveyard. Let me be the one to total my car due to getting in over my head...it's insured and I would not lose any sleep.

It's good to see some of these huge HP cars get out and run at the track. Maybe some day the boosted IS will be taken serious and get some respect in the speed department. It's the folks who go out and beat on them at the local tracks that set the bar. Thanks to all those folks. Letís keep raising the bar!

While I was waiting in line to run, I had a couple different guys come over and ask about my set up. Not 1 had any idea what was under the hood of an IS or what it might be capable of running. When I told one guy I had 700whp, he would not shut up..."OMG...OMG...get out of here...OMG...OMG...are you serious".

In all fairness, the auto skipping a gear at the end of the track played into the loss. It takes an owner such as Phil who is willing to push the limits of the stock auto tranny to help the community find the breaking point of a stock component. You will forever be in IS history because of such. Corey when outside the stock component "box" and found out an engine can be too efficient for a turbo. It can also be beautiful and fast. If the manual car gets to use a 2-step, the auto should be able to use N2O for spool-up only (since he did not have a high stall converter). I think that is keeping it real and fair.

I was at the end of the track cursing my heart out due to my blown fuse and got to watch them come through the lights @ 130+. It is a totally different world when watching cars come at you so fast. It was cool.

Hehe not really. An Auto can build boost by brake boosting with a properly stalled TC and have the drivetrain preloaded prior to launch and is definitely better for the 1/4. I used to get 1.61 60ft in my heavy ass GS400 with only 500RWHP automatic. If only cory's car did not spin out in 1st gear that run was for sure a low-mid 10 second pass.

Ditto guys. I had a great time chatting with everyone and seeing Phil's and Mark's car. I have some decent vids I will share soon. I'm really happy with my car and was blown away by the fact that I need a bigger turbo because I'm tapping out my current one at 23psi? WTF!

BTW -- At 23psi I think it was putting down ~740rwhp.

Here are two quick pics:

It's a misleading photo. Everyone crowds into the stands where the photo was shot because the pits are on that side. I suppose the other side is for overflow. Keep in mind, that run was at the very end of the day when many folks had left.
