5-23, Danville VA autoX

Hey guys, here are some pics from my last autoX, I just wished more IS in my area were interested in this sport, The IS is a competitive and fun car even if we are against bmw 330i, WRX's, Mazda Speed3's and the integra type r; i got 2nd, and 2 seconds slower behing 1st, which is not too bad since i wasn't running slicks , my car is all stock, except the intake and exhaust... oh btw Im auto and no lsd.. so plenty of room for improvements but, as a lexus owner, there's no better feeling than sticking it to the "ultimate driving machine" lol

Looks like you're having a good time.

Also, what lip is that?

Side note: For being such a great handling car I'm surprised more IS owners arent into autocross...

Swaybars will keep you in the stock class, I assume you run dstock. You will drop at least a second and reduce understeer a lot.

I run dsp and whoop on 330ci and a bunch of cars outta my class. I won't say the is3 is a great track platform but it is a lot of fun.

A rear bar kicks you out of stock. Front bar is allowed.

^^

last time when i went to nationals (and getting my butt handed to me on a silver plate lol) i was only allowed to change the front one if i wanted to be on D stock, im thinking of s trd yellow front sway bar plus some tokico yellow shocks to calm some of the body roll, install a stock lsd ( ) and stickier tires for now...

TB_: thanks; the lip is a greedy cf replica (not a very good one ) and werd on the IS3 being a good platform to start, not the best but a pretty good one,

jstancel: 5 people this time, me, a mazdaspeed3, 2 type r's and a 330i sport, all of those run slicks but since there was a chance of rain, only the speed3 brought them, and won

Unless your region deviates from the national SCCA Solo rulebook, the rear bar is not allowed in stock class.
See section 13.7 (pg 75, HERE):
"B. Rear anti-roll bars may not be removed, replaced, or modified in any way."

MR. leo: lip looks great. For some reaston I havent liked the greddy lips in tha past but your car may have just changed my mind. Nice!

That asphalt looks pretty rough. I bet it was brutal on tires.

Kind of off topic but do you have more pictures of the lip?
