'06 350 Drag racing - test & tune nite
 
Took my '06 IS350 to the track for the first time. Made about 8 passes. Had a blast. I need to work on my reaction time with this car. Not quite used to it yet. I was pleasantly surprised how fast these cars are, especially with the heavy wheels on mine.

My slips read around:
R/T - 0.24
60' - 2.0 sec
330' - 5.5
1/8 - 8.81
mph - 81.

Practice more and you should be able to get close to 0.2

Calculator suggests 13.79 at 100.44... which is actually pretty slow for a 350... correlating his 1/8th mile run with the numbers on dragtimes suggests 13.7-13.8 as well.

How were you launching when you got those times? How are your tires? What was the weather? All can have a large impact.

Ideal launch will be all the electronic nannies off (which means doing the pedal dance in an 06), ECT-Normal mode, shifter in D or S-6 and don't touch those worthless paddles.

You might want to deflate the rears a bit too (and inflate the fronts)

Thanks for the comments. My launches sucked! It was my first time running this car. most were around 0.25-0.4

Was running nice michelin ZR street tires around 35 lbs.

Agree, the paddle shirfters are worthless and only for looks.

Shifter always in D. The trans shifts better than any manual option in this car.
I was in PWR mode all but 1 race. It did help, feels more responsive and def shifts at the end of each gear.

Just raced again this past Weds, but my times were a bit slower. I did put new tires on the rear and didn't deflate. My reaction times were much better but can use improvement. average around 0.11

Best I've run is a 13.67 @ 100 with stock tires, no inflate/deflate. Going again tonight. Shooting for under 13.65, but not sure if I'll get it due to the tires have 10K hard ass mils on them.

Yeah, turn that off.

Regardless of how it "feels" it's faster in normal mode and will shift about 100-150 rpms higher than in PWR mode, so better 1/4 mile times.

R/T is good to know for race purposes, but doesn't actually have any impact on your 1/4 mile times... it's a measure of time from when the light turns green to when you actually leave the line.... your ET (elapsed time) is how long it actually takes to run the 1/4 mile, and doesn't start till the R/T measurement ends and you leave the line.

It's why deep staging can improve R/T but hurt your E/T (best E/T you'd want to barely trigger the second light when lining up... best R/T you want the first light entirely out)

Try and put the rears at 20-25psi, you'd be amazed at the launch you'll get. Keep the fronts fully aired up. You'll see that 60 ft drop by about .1-.15
