New Altezza owner from the Bahamas

New member here from the Bahamas just popping in to say hi and to introduce myself. Saw the forum through a google search and decided to sign up! As mentioned, I live in the Bahamas (born and raised), 33 years old and married with 2 kids and for the past 12 years I have been the installation manager of an auto sound and security business where we are authorized dealers for Directed Electronics in the Bahamas so don't be at all surprised when you see a nice custom install in my Altezza I recently purchased my 1999 Altezza (actually just last week) and I'm really enjoying the smooth ride. Due to 2 herniated discs in my back that may end up requiring surgery to fix, I decided to sell my slammed JDM Integra that I've dumped a ton of money in over the past 2 years for a more comfortable ride that doesn't require a ton of bending to get in and out of. So far, I'm happy with the purchase! Not sure how deep I'm going to get into fixing this car up because I promised myself I'd take a break from the hobby for a bit due to my back and the new addition to my family this year (have a 4 year old and a 6 month old), but I always seem to get pulled in . For sure, I will do a nice custom stereo install but as far as wheels and "fixing" up the car goes, haven't quite decided yet. Guess we'll see

Here are two shots of the Altezza the day I brought it home.

Thanks man! And no...No interior shots yet. I will get a few and post them tomorrow. Not sure what the US IS's come with but this car came with a navigation screen that motorizes out of the top of the dash which I've decided to gut out and fabricate a better screen to fit in there and I just popped in the new JVC Kameleon.

I will gets some interior pics and post them tomorrow

Where in the Bahamas are you in?

I'm from Nassau but I'm currently Stateside for school with my IS.

I'm always in Nassau trying to find these in junkyards to swipe parts. Lol

At any rate, welcome bey

Here are the interior shots I promised. First pic shows the nav screen down and the second it's up. Does the american model IS's come with them because the last one I saw (US model) had a pocket there?? As mentioned, I plan to remove that screen and put a better quality screen in its place. Should look exactly the same because I'm using the same housing but I just a better quality picture.

The small inline 6. Pretty clean for a 1999 though

As soon as the Integra goes the Altezza gets the car cover. My wife seems to think her Nitro is going under there haha!!!

Man...You don't know how bad I want to drop it. See my Integra in the last pic?? My Mugen headers rub on speed bumps where it is so low. I'd love to drop it, but due to back issues, not sure if I will. Maybe a slight drop though...Still contemplating.

Drop? On those Nassau roads?

You'd clearly hate yourself after lol.

love the altezza! congrats!

and WOWW i had the same cloth interior as you since i bought my IS in 2001 (i just recently changed it to the leather/suede seats), but i had never seen the matching floor mats!! Love them!!!

seems like you got an amazing car, with navi and everything. and how unique, altezza with cloth interior, no sunroof (like me ) and navi!

Very nice and clean altezza. Looks like you have the 1GFE engine, so you have a GXE10. It is absurdly rare to get navi without sunroof? lol, but such a nice clean car for a 99. How many miles on it? if you are going to change the LCD, might as well get a bigger LCD, and modify your JDM tray to fit a bigger LCD. Let us know on your progress with the car . Cheers.

Thanks for the replies! Yea, I'm going to swap out that screen and will post pics as I go. I ordered a front lip which I should have soon and will post pics of that as well. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake buying the car because I can't find parts for it here!!! I need a new power stearing pump pulley (making a whistling noise) but have no idea where to look. Might need to start a new thread to find out.
