Interior paint

What's up fellow ISers,

Was wondering if I could get some assistance with an issue. I've searched everywhere regarding the crappy rubbery paint that Lexus decided to use in my 02 interior on the dash because it's starting to become a nuisance.

I wanted to see what people have done to remove this stuff without having to take apart the interior (remove the entire dash). I've read of people sanding it off, but that seems like it would do harm to the plastic underneath the paint. And then I've read of people using acetone, but I'm wondering if that would discolor the plastic once the rubbery stuff is gone. Just want something I can do on my spare time.

Pics of what you guys did would be awesome as well.

Thanks everyone!!

All I did on mine so far was remove it with a blue scrub pad and a heavy duty goo gone.

But this is the paint to use:
