Just got a hold of this rare part.
This is the TRD Front Lip for USDM IS300 bumpers. Only 13 of these known to exist on the forums.
* BTW, these are not pics of the part I purchased. These belong to another board member and I hope they don't mind.

1 of 12 now, or maybe fewer. Mine was destroyed a year ago driving from LA to vegas. I get sad every time I think about it.

after reading this awesome thread , I think I have came to a decision on what I want for my IS , my Blitz front lip was damaged last thanksgiving and that opened up the whole buying a new front bumper deal for me , debating on either Vertex or the L-Tuned (Replica or not) and since I have the L-Tuned rear already , maybe its time to go after the side skirts after I go after the L-tuned front bumper.

There are some authentic sides for sale.

Too many people try to impress others and build their car to what they know someone will like.

The Legana Bumper (l-tuned, Carson Tuned, Trd Neo I)

While searching for info on this bumper I came across this from a UK site and thought we could all benifit from it here.

Feel free to post up info or pics of your bumper and what brand ect.

I joined several US IS forums (my.is, LOC US, Isfanatics) and began my research. Apparently the L-tuned was a hotted up version of the IS300. I read a review where they compared it to BMWs M division, but that is an overstatement. The L-tuned bodykit was also sold separately and apparently sold out when the kit was discontinued a few years ago. L-tuned quickly replaced it with the Carson tuned bodykit which looks the same but is made from some typical aftermarket material. This kit is still being sold and the front bumper is $700.

I was just about to order the Carson tuned front bumper when another name came upÖ someone told me I should track down a JDM TRD NEO I bumper, as itís supposed to fit the non-US spec IS better. At that time I had never heard of the NEO I, but I followed the advice given to me. If you google ďTRD NEO IĒ nothing useful at all comes up, unless youíre like me and go through all the links until page xx. There you find an argument on whether or not L-tuned came up with the design. Suddenly a fourth name was mentionedÖ Legana.

I finally had a name that took me somewhere, to Australasia. To be able to read everything I wanted I joined two more forums, The Altezza club of NZ and LOC Australia. Once again I had to start all over, searching for a new name, but it paid off. I stumbled upon a great lead, the actual Toyota item number (08164-53010-B0). I later found out that TRD have nothing to do with the bumper, that NEO I is just a name the yanks came up with as they donít seem to have heard of the bumperís real name.

The Legana bumper was developed for the IS200 that took part in the Targa Tasmania rally in 1999 and it got name from a small township the first leg passes through. That year, the IS finished first in its class and also won in 2000 and 2001. This obviously shows that the Legana bumper is the original, since the IS300 didnít even exist back in 1999.

My quest continued and I must say Iím fairly close to buying this bumper now. Iím currently awaiting quotations from Toyota in Japan, Australia and NZ.

Iíve found two retailers that currently sell the genuine model.
Japanparts.com (Japan - •113,000 + fog lights + shipping + VAT)
Fizz Autosports (USA - $1,436.00+ fog lights + shipping + VAT)

However, they both buy their bumpers from Toyota Japan and then raise the price. Just for fun, I gave the item number to my local Toyota dealer who gave me a quotation for 29,613 kr (£2432)Ö

There are quite a few fiberglass and FRP copies out there and some of them may fit as good as the genuine one, but it just wouldnít feel right to buy one of those. Hereís a bumper thatís been developed by Toyota on the other side of the earth and as with most car parts, they probably spent huge amounts of money and time designing it. The Legana bumper is named after an annual rally in which it took part and won three years in a row (Not the bumper itself, but the IS200 that was wearing it). That means itís got a history. You can drive around knowing that your bumper was made for a purpose, not just to help the fiberglass bloke in Hong Kong afford his hot dog.

Legana fog lights - 08590-53020

Both the bumper and the fog lights can still be bought from Toyota dealers in Japan and Australia. I ordered mine from a Toyota dealer in Tokyo and four days later my package arrived

Here's my supercharged IS200 with Legana bodykit (front bumper, TRD sideskirts and TRD rear skirt). I've also imported a set of L-tuned rims - VERSUS Campionato SS7 by Rays Engineering.

Dress-up items include three separate body kits that range from mild (the Executive), to sporty (the Touring), to wild (the Legana), plus a Carbon-Fibre kit with a carbon-fibre steering wheel and exterior mirror covers.

Other options include differently-styled 17 inch alloy wheels, a forged tow-bar with quick release hitch, roof racks with a full range of attachments, acrylic headlamp covers, rear parking proximity sensors, a moulded boot liner and a boot luggage net.

the Legana kit comprises a totally new front bumper/spoiler assembly with built-in fog lamps, a mesh radiator grille, side skirts, a rear skirt and a high-level rear spoiler."

Lexus IS200 2.0L Sedan NRMA Car Review - NRMA Motoring & Services

"The Legana body kit, named after the Targa Tasmania special stage just outside Launceston, consists of an aggressive front bumper with fog lamps, a mesh radiator grille, black chrome headlamps, side and rear skirts and a high-level rear spoiler.

The high rear spoiler and a front airdam extension make up the Touring Sports kit.

A more subtle Executive body kit consists of the front skirt and a low-level rear spoiler.

The Carbon-Fibre kit adds a carbon-fibre sports steering wheel and carbon-fibre look exterior mirror covers.

"The range of accessory kits and individually available accessory items reflects the vehicle's younger target market," Lexus Australia national sales and marketing manager Rory Macdougall says. "
