Best thing before asking these questions and i know you didnt, is to look around the site and do some reading ...search button.....

There is a diff in the SRT and KN intakes ....

Forget anything about a performance chip for an IS.............

again use the search button its been covered many times, the basics are the srt is the best bang for your buck. better sound and performance but the only flaw is that it takes alot of low end power from you and puts it up top. in the end N/A is a waste of time. thats just my 2 cents

K&N is your standard open element short ram intake. SRT uses larger intake piping (3.5") and their R-ECU corrects for that larger pipe and leans out the A/F a bit. If you want an intake for your IS, I suggest you either get the Joe-Z and a high flow drop in panel filter (near as makes no difference the same power as any other intake short of the SRT and it is the cheapest) as the best "value" or the SRT if you want as much power as you can get.

In my opinion, buying any other intake is a waste.

In addition any "performance chip" you see on ebay isn't going to do shit for the IS (or any car really, they're simply a scam)

Have a question? Try the my.is FAQ or, if you can't find an answer there, search before posting your question (hopefully in the correct forum).
