Exhaust system

Hey guys so I recently installed some headers and I'm looking to finish the exhaust off so its all free flowing, now resonators look similar to the stock one, so should I bother going a full system ie apexi or tanabe or just get a muffler like hks hi power or carbon ti

Is it recommended to go full system or does the stock resonator not restrict that much

Thanks

I'm not really sure any exhaust mods make any real difference on a stock engine. It's more about sound. The axlebacks are designed to sound good with the stock resonator, and obviously the catbacks are designed to sound good with their own resonator. A catback is going to be potentially louder than an axleback.

I ran aftermarket headers w/HKS Carbon-Ti & stock Y pipe/resonator before I went w/Dezods. It sounded decent. Definitely not LOUD. Go for it! You can also look on youtube & search HKS Hi-Power (same sound & performance as HKS Carbon-Ti) w/headers for sound clips.

Afull exhaust will make a bit better power. 2.5 inch is a good all around size for N/A.

I like Magnaflow. But if you do not mind a little louder. Look at J2 Engineering. There are some others too. But I like more sedate noise levels.

Yeah i was looking at the magnaflow good to know it’s worth upgrading the stock resonator as well

Yes, still running stock resonator. The HKS Carbon-Ti will scrape on occasion. But I like the scrapes. I've had mine since '07 or so & it definitely scrapes speed bumps/tables, driveways, etc. depending on how low you are. Like the bottom of your front bumper, it's gonna happen on occasion. It's a muffler tho; if you ain't scraping, you ain't ridin' right.
