oxygen sensor $250!??!

so my CEL came on the other day and my dad's mechanic friend said oxygen sensor 1, and he said it would cost 150 for the o2 sensor and 100 for labor? am i gettin ripped off? and also ive heard that my recent extremely low gas mileage (16 mpg) could be a result of this failing sensor, is that possible?

Sounds a little high. Well, when I stripped my O2 sensor on my y-pipe, I went to Carson and got my sensor for $130 shipped, and had it installed at LMS for another $35.

That price sounds correct coming from the dealer.

autozone quoted me $110 for the part itself. still lookin for someone to do the labor. I am going to call a toyota dealer soon. im wondering if i should take the part with me, or let them order it knowing that i know very well how much it costs (would that even matter is the next question). Anyways, chriscarlos, LMS? local mechanic shop? is that what u are referring to? names?

or you could buy this one and splicing it to the factory harness saving you a good deal of $$$.
