Hole beside fog light

Salutations

I have searched the forums and physically searched in the hole and can't seem to find a reason for it. Could have missed it entirely, but I could not see what it is venting - if in fact it is. I used it change the bulbs and it does collect things like leaves and bugs!

what?

okay...
It's functional at least to some degree because the fog mounting screws are in there... There really isn't a whole lot to cool down on this car that would necessitate a bunch of vents. Umm, lets see. oh yeah, it looks good...?

AH...So it is service degradation port! It collects water and dirt (more weight) and to some degree would grab air and slow you down. No wonder my track times suffer.

If it's making that much of a difference, why not remove the fogs (weight) and just cap the whole corner off? You'll probably gain another 1/100th of a second

I am going to vent my BBK....or perhaps install a mini vac to suck up the break dust, something Lexus R&D clearly dropped the ball on!!
