I'm now at 200,004, Let me ask...How does a radiator, starter, and alternator go 200,000 miles without being replaced? I've been more than happy with the reliability of this car.

Not surprised by the starter or alternator. Very very surprised by the radiator. Be careful, that part is a ticking time bomb.

Same boat. Have 110k on my MT 04 and (gasp!) had to replace my oxygen sensor a few months ago (oh no!) ~$65 OEM part...

Hit a pot hole and having some brake system issues as well, will see how bad those turn out from a $$$ perspective, but considering the badge on the front represents luxury, the maintenance has not been too expensive...

Hope to drive mine into the ground many, many years later and hope life will cooperate to allow me to do that.

Just purchased a 2002 with 210,000 miles and am loving it. It sure doesn't drive like a car with that many miles.

update:
'04 with 228k. It has been sitting for a bit with tranny issues, and I have been piling miles on my tacoma. I need to start daily-driving the IS again!

Starter has been replaced. The rear diff had a slight leak and resealed it. Regular timing belt services, and motor is still solid.

Something happened to 3rd gear so I found a replacement tranny--not easy to find W55s! I had it pulled and shipped with fingers crossed. The gamble worked out and I had it installed with a new clutch/flywheel/PP.

Right after the install I was getting throwout bearing noise and strong chatter on engagement. I had a new bearing/clutch/PP kit sent due to the early bearing issue, and will be having it replaced again next week. The tweet/squeak from the tranny combined with the chatter warrants trying again. If chatter continues, I'll replace the mounts (even though lexus said they are fine) and if tweet is present after second replacement I'll be putting a light spring on the clutch fork to see if it helps. It seems to be a common issue with replacement kits.

200k with the original radiator? You're on borrowed time bud.

You got that right. When mine blew, it cost $600 for a tow. Not happy about that but wasn't about to risk driving 75 miles with the heater on full blast to try and save some money.

'04 with 131,970 miles on the clock. Bought it used in '10 with 76k. Dealing with a slight trans oil leak. Other than that, still runs great. She's still a looker. Especially in my small town.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1
