Altezza taillights chrome cracks?

I've seen some IS300s with chrome inside their altezza taillights forming cracks. How does it happen, and how can I avoid it from happening?

No way to avoid finish cracks. Comes with age. If it bothers you replace them.

i would assume excessive heat and possibly moisture. mine never did this, although it was garage kept. id recommend storing your car in a garage or in an area where you can keep the direct sunlight off of it.

heat, sunlight, moisture, and even impacts from accidents or other bangs can cause the finish to peel off like that. I had it happen to me from an accident.

Garage
Mine happened just from age. Completely normal.

Like Solar Said. If it bothers you- you'll replace them.

OEMs can be found on Ebay. Otherwise seems that Spyder Auto is probably the preferred vendor.

I know there are a bunch of guys underground doing LED Retrofits with Sequencers (if youre willing to pony up the 800~1200$.

I paid like $300.00 for mine off Amazon. (I think?)
