hold the crank pulley so the engine won't turn and then try to loosen the cam bolt, with the belt still on of course.

^^ x2!

It'll be much easier that way with the t-belt still on.

Great DIY.

Hey Donnie.....is there a torque spec for those 5 bolts on the UR cam gear? How tight should it be?

A stock IS300 can have a cam gear set to -4 without messing anything up.
thanks for the clearing up! i was wondering where the negative 4 came from.

Thanks for the write up! It looks a lot more simple then I expected. I've had my gear for a year now and it just sits there. haha. I'm still pretty new to car stuff.

Hi!

I will install my TITAN Cam Gear soon, so i want to check if my plan is right.

0) Install two O2 Sims
1) Adjust Cam Gear to -3.5
2) Tighten the 5 nuts with 48 inch pounds, which means only 6Nm (?!) and use Loctite 243
3) Timing Belt Change, Water Pump Change and so on
4) Start der Car und have fun?!

Or do i have to install the cam gear with setting 0 and adjust it when its mounted?

Here is the pic, i think i have to fasten it like the pic below.

I'm glad to get some help, rest of the setup is original IS300, except muffler.

Thanks!
