Posh469 build thread - vroom psh!

So I'm in great need of improved organization but I suppose it's about time I started a build thread for myself.

I purchased a 2004 IS300 Sport Design in Alabaster Metallic Color (3Q4) back in 2010 from a Lexus Dealership. As a matter of fact, I was pretty much sold on another dealers Black RSX Type S until I found this little Gem buried in the Wisconsin Snow tucked away in a corner parking space. Sure enough, we dug the car out of the fluffy white snow and took her for a test drive. I was instantly in love! I have always had a love for the Toyota Line as I grew up with Camry's my entire life and when the IS Series Came out I was in love before I even had a budget to purchase one.

Sometime has now come and gone and the mod bug starting biting me. (For a long time I kept her completely stock).
- I've read a ton from this site and continue to learn more and more each day.

I've scoured my computer for some of the most original photos I had of the car and only found a few.
- On the sport design version you can note the SD badging on the Quarter Panels, Titanium Headlight housings, and Titanium Painted Front Grill and Rear Emblems.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beginning with the Modifications:

Started slow at first but has since picked up speed.

Initial modifications included:
New OE Front Bumper (After I was run off the road by a semi near a bridge and cracked the original one)
New LED Tail lights as the OE Housings became water soaked. - Then Plasti Dipped the Stock Round Deck Lights
New Front Grill
New Wheels - After I was told 2 of the 5 rims I have were bent and was loosing air in the tires.
- For the wheels I went with some 18" x 8.5" Motegi Racing MR119 and Michelin AS Pilot Sports (Y-Rated)
Tinted the Windows
Replaced the Stock Deck Lights with matching LED Lights
Rear Window Visor
APEXI N1 Catback System
TRD Shorty Antenna
HPS Joe-Z Intake Tube

That is how the car then sat for some time - but it's never enough (Insert evil laugh)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next round of mods included:
Fortune Auto Coilovers with Swift Spring Upgrade (12K front and 10K rear) - In hindsight I probably should have done 16K front and 14K rear)
Figs Front Refresh Kit with Front Upper Control Arms
Figs Mega Lower Control Arms
Ichiba Wheel Spacers (+15mm Front / +25mm Rear)
Small Front Lip (Amazon Special)
CCFL Headlights (Which Only stayed on for a few weeks before I returned them)
Megan Racing Mid-Pipe
Altezza Front Grill (Amazon Special)
CUSCO Front Upper Strut Tower
CUSCO Radiator Cooling Plate (Shipped Direct from Japan - silly part took 4 months to get here)
TRD Short Antenna Faded - Replaced with "The Stubby"
PowerStop Slotted Rotors and Hawk Racing Brake Pads
HPS Aluminum Intake (Removed Stock Air Box)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Insert Evil Laugh Again)

Next Mods:
Mishimoto Radiator
Mishimoto Hose Kit (Upper and Lower)
SPEC D LED Front Headlights
DNA Motoring Headers (She's now straight piped)
- Welded in Flex Pipe On the Mid Pipe to reduce leaks
GDY Style Front Lip
TRD Side Skirts
TRD Rear Apron
Eibach Sway Bars (Front and Rear)
Figs Sway Bar End Links
BRZ 4.10 Locking Differential Swap with OEM Subaru Bolts
Figs Poly Bushings (stiffer than stock) for the Diff
SEIBON TS Style Vented Hood.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most Recents:
AIT Racing L-Tuned Front Bumper
HKS Adjustable Cam Gear
Fluidampr Harmonic Balancer
Lightweight Aluminum Pulleys (Ebay Special)
Gates Performance Timing Belt Kit
SUPRA Water Pump
Brian Crower 264 Spec Camshafts
AC DELETE
Carbon Fiber Trunk Garnish
(Last Pic is how she sits today)

Next:
Looking at purchasing a used R154 Trans for doing a Manny Swap
Lightweight Flywheel
Aluminum or CF Driveshaft
- Then onto perhaps an engine swap and boost (Fingers crossed)
- (If there's any money left in the kitty) Bride Racing Seats with Takata Belts
- And Sorry I have many more pics but I am limited per posting.

Can anyone help me out with the below question for my upcoming manual swap:

Looking at purchasing a Clutch and Brake Pedal Kit off Ebay but it says RHD Assembly.
- Can this be used for a LHD swap?
- Are they identical?
- I want to stay very clear of the xcessive kit.
----------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: NVM they look the same.

what is wrong with the xcessive kit? they make good stuff and support this very small community.

if youre after parts, @killerBmxandy (or some variation of that name) on IG usually has swap parts up for sale.

Because I want a matching (stock looking) clutch pedal assembly.
- It's not a knock on support of the community; their support is something that I can appreciate.
- Local friend gave me a terror review from another members experience so I was told to stay away.
- Perhaps you've had better luck.

Pretty sure the pedals should be the same. I'm not 100% on that but I thought I've read it somewhere. Also agree Xcessive is an awesome shop and all the guys over there are super cool and helpful.

I think VT Bobby on you tube accidentally ended up with a set of altezza pedals from a RHD car and they didnt fit in the LHD Is300.

Well the RHD Clutch Pedal Assembly Came in today. Looks good. Hoping it wont be any issue.

Anyone have recommendations on Clutch Line? DM makes one with a pressure sensor (not sure if the pressure sensor is a waste of $$$)
- They also have a ton of stock clutch lines on Ebay for reasonable prices.
- Also, if anyone here has done the swap - what's recommended: should I simply dremel away the plastic insert in the shifter area on the auto and add a boot or purchase a used manual bezel off ebay?

Working on getting all my parts in order and purchase before hitting the garage.

Also, in the meantime, I was able to retrofit my headlight's H1 bulb with the below:

Not a bad look! haha
- go ahead and hate me; I like them :D
- Only a "little" illegal...

i recommend a stainless line from a reputable mfg. if you're going through the trouble, just skip rubber and go stainless. i have a techna-fit on mine, but i bought it years ago; so im not sure if its still available. dont buy anything generic, theres no accountability if you have an issue down the line.

im not sure what exactly is different between the auto and manual bezels, but if you can get manual bezels for a decent price id just go that route. im also pretty sure you need a part of the manual trans tunnel. have you located one of those as well?

Thanks mesoo!

Yes! I did actually get the Trans Tunnel off ebay already - should be here within 5 days.
- I found an 01 Manual Bezel for $110.00USD (didnt purchase it yet)
- I guess I was worried if the manual shift location and auto are the same? (one would deduce yes - but I know the elbow rest is quite different between the two looking at the bezels)

- To further the discussion, well be mating a tri-pod R154 to the GE block. (Not sure where the shifter spits out in the bezel location)
- Manny slated to ship this Thursday! :D

ah nice the purple lights worked and don't look bad. Did you jump the DRL resistor box so they'd be full power?

Literally just plug and play! And with my luck - Could you believe it?! haha
- Only modification we did was to mill down the bulb seat / backing plate thingy. (normally you just feed the bulb right through the contact plate).

The LED bulb was MUCH larger in OD than the stock one - so once we had the backing plate bored out the bulbs slipped right in.
Viola! :D

I love it when a plan comes together.

Anyone have recommendations on Aftermarket Seatbelts?

Looking at purchasing either: some rep Bride seats or NRG 310 Seats
- I plan on replacing both driver and passenger seats.
- Love Takata but soooo expensive.
- Has anyone had experience with Cipher Auto? or the knock off Tanaka?

I like the 4-point harness. Recommendations?

I don't think its possible to run the stock seatbelt properly on bucket seats so I am in need of some suggestions.
