Aristo VVTi Swap Goodness :)

Sean05's Way-to-long-of-a-build Build Thread

I am going to be in the process of cleaning up this thread to turn it into more of a build/progress thread. Its pretty ugly right now. Here is a current list of the modifications as of 9/29/2011:

Engine:
Aristo VVTi GTE
AEM EMS V2
AEM 5bar MAP sensor
AEM AIT sensor
AEM Boost control solenoid
Comp Turbo 67
Precision 6766 .81 A/R
XS Reinforced Manifold
GodSpeed Intercooler
HKS SSQV BOV
HKS Race Wastegate
3” Custom Downpipe/Mid pipe
HKS Super Dragger (Old)
3” Custom exhaust

Fuel:
Precision 880cc Injectors
Swift Racing Billet Dual Pump Hanger
Dual Walbro 225lph
Fuel Injector Clinic Fuel Rail
Fuel Labs fuel filter
Aeromotive A1000 FPR
Built A605e

Appearance:
Full Carson Tuned Kit
Excel Ennio wheels
UGO Roof Spoiler
Tein Flex Coilovers

I bought the car in 2008 from a fellow My.IS member (Chinoxs203). Here are a few pictures from back before it was boosted.

A few months down the road after purchasing it the car threw a rod bearing. The original plan was to do a GTE swap and run the twins for a while. Well that plan did not last long. Slowly the project turned from the stock twins to a 67 single running 550cc supra injectors. My friend (awd2gen) and I replaced all the seals, gaskets, o-rings, pumps, and belts on the motor. Slowly the 550cc injectors had found their way into the parts pile and 880cc injectors were on their way. The motor came out on 7/2009.

2. 1x 90 degree AN-6 (goes to fitting on the fuel rail)
3. 1x 15 ft of AN-6 braided line (you'll need to cut and assemble the line and fittings)
4. 1x Aeromotive FPR
5. 1x AN-6 to AN-10 o-ring fitting (input to FPR)
6. 1x AN-10 plug (cap off other input end of FPR)
7. 1x AN-6 to AN-6 fitting (output of FPR)
8. 1x AN-6 bulk head fitting (goes to fuel pump assembly)
9. 1x AN-6 bulk head nut
10. 1x AN-6 to barb fitting (goes to end of bulk end fitting that will be in the fuel tank)
11. 1x 2 ft fuel line that goes from barb fitting to white ventricle
12. 3x AN-6 straight fittings

Im also picking up US Twins and Injectors. I should be able to get some pictures of the motor up by tomorrow for everyone to check out. The Aristo harness is missing but I plan to use the IS harness. I cant wait to start digging into this project. Its going to be a long a tedious road but the final product is worth it.

I should be able to get some custom intercooler piping and downpipe for PFS here in Frederick. Im sure im missing a ton of stuff about the swap but Im tired.

Pics should be up soon!

As for price im really not sure yet. Still piecing together parts. The motor cost me $2500.00 but honestly it looks brand new. Once I get it everything finished ill post up a price list of what everything cost from top to bottom.

Ive been lurking in the swap doc for days now reading everything over and over getting ready for the swap. Im going to start printing individual post that have valuable info in then and toss everything in a folder. That way ill have everything handy while in the car.

Are you scrapping the oem FPR and using the Aeromotive? The oem setup is more then capable...YOu will max out injectors before you run into issues with the Toyota return.
If you are dead set on using an Aeromotive you will need to drill/tap your rail just like the GE procedure calls for. However, if you use the Toyota setup you will not need half the fuel return parts you have listed. You will however be plumming your fuel return into the oem FPR.
With that you mention usdm injectors/rail. The 550s are low impedance so depending on what engine mgmt solution you opt for you might need a resistor box....plan for that unless you go standalone.

Also, keep an open mind, open an account with summitracing because you are going to need more fittings then you can ever imagine. Lots of trial and error with meticulously incorporating form & function.

No, i have no problem running the oem FPR. I figured me and summit would become best friends in this swap. Where can I get a resistor box from? I knew the usdm injectors were low impedance just havent thought about the resistors yet.

You can use boxes from an acura vigor, etc. Most common is the mkiv oem supra box...but its costly. I'm using a manufactured box with a few more ohms then the supra one...obtained it from a vendor on SF site...very nice.
Do not just go buy resistors from radio shack and slap them in.....the box needs heatsinked for proper heat dissipation.

In addition to your fuel return list you will need -6an viton o-ring for the top of your fuel assembly / return.

Also, if you placing a decent order from Toyota you should replace your water pump, tstat and all associated gaskets (didnt see it above).

Item: Cooling system, Water pump, Water pump, supra, w/turbo
Price: $125.32
Item: Cooling system, Thermostat, Thermostat, supra
Price: $13.60
Item: Cooling system, Thermostat gasket, Thermostat gasket, supra
Price: $3.94

Edit* from below:
LOL Yes, the airbag sensor. Move it back on the rail so that nothing comes close to banging into it. Tons of little forgetful details.

Since we're on this subject. Mike when you did your 3" piping to your throttle body, did your piping hit the little yellow sensor on the frame rail (driver side) I believe it's the impact sensor.

Haha to be on topic, yea go with the 2.5" plumbing you will get less headaches!

I had the water pump on the list, I just forget to add it to my post. What vendor did you get the resistor box from? Im on the supra forum all the time.

Your right I didnt have the tstat or the tstat gaskets. Ill be sure to add them.
