Step by step on HOW TO DISABLE SEATBELT CHIME!!!!

I found this in another forum while searching for the answer myself on google and thought id post it up on here. I know you will appriciate this if you hate that chime as much as i do lol. It will work on all years of the isx50 so if it doesnt work when you do it you must have done something wrong. Just try it again.

1. turn the key to the ON position (press Start 2 times), foot off the brake
2. cycle the odometer with the trip reset button until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B )
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position (Press Start 2 times). when the dash lights have come on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (editor's note, hold it more like 30 sec)
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7. the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off

To turn on again just simply repeat process and make appropriate selection at step 7.

Worked like a charm. My girlfriend sometimes thinks she's on the SWAT team and undoes her seatbelt as soon as we get within two blocks of where we're going. That chime would annoy the hell out of me.

not any more

Im sorry but as much as the chime may be annoying its better to be safe than sorry. I must agree just put it on. I use the chime to force people to put on the seatbelt. lol I tell them it wont stop untill they put it on.

thanks, worked perfectly. i had asked a tech at the dealership how to turn it off bc i live in a house where 6 cars are at and we constantly have to move them which i wasnt going to put my seatbelt on to pull it out of the driveway bc that chiming is annoying. they told me it was a safety feature you couldnt turn off. well whoops that guy is a dumbass.

Garage
Worked great on my 2010 IS350!! It took me 3 times of trying before I got the hang of it. What I found, was that as soon as you hit the 2nd push of the start button, as soon as you see the speedo and tach bars light up, before it has time to complete the on cycle, press the reset. That's when it worked for me. Great post!! Thanks all!!
