Alternator failure?

There seems to be a high number of alternator failures among IS cars, so I did a little research. OEM Denso is still the best replacement, however; they [as well as other replacement alts] have a high rate of rectifier failure due to inadequate 15A diodes. I found that among the IS alternator failures it is almost always a rectifier issue, this is most likely due to the high accessory load of the IS cars. I had a local alternator shop rebuild my denso for 150CDN with beefed up 30A diodes and have had no issues since. Takes about 2-3 hours and a little patience to replace the alternator in the car. Hope this helps.
