2006 Lexus IS350 dashboard replacement

Finally got the call from my dealer that they have the new dashboard. Replacement took one day. The original dashboard was not cracked but very sticky and created quite a glare on the front windshield.

Before

New dashboard is very nice, definitely no longer sticky (for now), and no more glare.

It was free. Dashboard warranty enhancement. Only certain model years and certain models.

Does this cover 2007 IS350 as well?

It is really great that you got yourself a free dash. How is the install? Have you checked to see if the dashboard is installed properly? No uneven gaps from left to right?

Uncertain on 2007.

Install seems fine. My original dash was not in the best shape due to wear so new dash is tons better.

There seems to be a problem with the 2006-2008 IS Dashboards. People have complained that they are sticky. I am willing to bet the compound used to cover the foam or even the foam itself is defective. You are very lucky that they did this for you. I'm not sure they would be open to fixing this issue for others. Their hope is these cars are pushing 10+ years and will disappear off he market.

People at clublexus say that 2007 model is covered for the dashboard replacement also. My dash gets real sticky in sunny weather. I don't have any discernible cracks / tear though.

Do you guys think I'll be covered even though I am not the original owner? I just bought the car a week ago and noticed this. IS250 2007, the original owner (A friend of mine) said he never received a letter for this but the issue is present.

I am the second owner and had no problems getting the replacement.

Lexus will also replace door panels if they are having issues as well free of charge. They installed 4 new door panels and dash at no cost to me as there was problems with cracking and chipping.

I have a 2006 which I just purchased from the original owner and he stated he never received any notification from Lexus. He saved all of the other recall notices.
I do see the dashboard becoming very sticky. Will Lexus cover this?

I am so glad to read this! I've always hated my dash and thought my only option would be to cover it..

2006 Lexus IS350 Dash Board Replacement Cost

Hi

I was wondering how much would the dealer charge to replace the front dash board of a Lexus IS350? I am about to purchase this car from a friend but I noticed the sticky dash board. I don't think this is covered under warranty so therefore I wanted to get an approximate cost or if anyone has just paid the dealer to replace the dash. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

B
