Your ideal volume level

For me 40 is fun, but I want to maintain hearing for at least a few more years. So 30 works well...

Depends on the speed, noise level, what I'm listening to. I found out that when you set the FM bass, treble etc, then when you switch to CD you can have a different group of settings.

I noticed that too, each mode retains settings... so what's your common number!? When you're not racing in the work parking lot that is--with the ASL on!

I guess 30 would be the average usual setting.

I float between 20 and 30, depending on speed and road noise.

One thing I keep forgetting that I've got the radio controls on the steering wheel and still keep using the knobs and buttons on the dash.

Yeah, but I don't blame ya, the feel of the volume dial is perfect, just a little resistance! Lexus clearly put a TON of thought into all aspects of this car!

I've only used the volume knob on the radio once, my last car had the radio controls on the steering wheel and I told myself I wouldn't go back to a car without them. I guess I'm getting lazy that 8 inch stretch from the shift knob to the radio takes to much out of me.

The ML package features an Automated Sound Leveling circuit, which you can disable.

25-30 to me. Any higher than that I have to turn the bass down. The rear view mirror takes a beating from it.

BTW, what are your preferences with surround sound, on or off?

I tried it with it off once, I've kept it turned on ever since...
