Shipping my IS350. Disconnect battery?

I am shipping my IS350 cross country. The shipper has informed me to disable any alarm systems or engine immobilizers. Do I disconnect the battery or is their a way to just disable the alarm systems? I hate the idea of disconnecting my battery.

Disconnect the battery,....-ve first, +ve last. Reconnect +ve first, -ve last.
