Put on my Hankook Ventus V12 EVO K110's

So, I know there has been quite some chatter about these tires since Knightshade posted the C&D article about them.

Some of you might recall that last year (in October) I got a flat spot on one of my OEM Potenza's and after much deliberating, I decided I just had too much tread on the rears to go for a new set entirely. Instead, I simply swapped out the front's for two new Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's.

I've had them on for a week and I wanted to share some of my impressions.

Overall, I am happy with the purchase, but in my experience so far, they are louder than the OEM's. That is a bit of a negative for me because I do enjoy silence when I drive.

Not terrible road noise, but enough that I noticed a difference from the OEM and in fact, I think I can actually discern the noise between the front and the rear tires now.

Having said that, I have also found that they have more grip, the front tires tend to now hold a hard turn better than the OEM's did and I also think I have a slight improvement in gas mileage.

The price... well, that is just the part that makes these tires a no-brainer. I got the tires, installed, balanced and mounted for just a tad over $300. That's a bargain IMO.

Obviously I can't speak to treadwear yet, but I regretting not swapping out all four because I feel like they perform differently enough to have warranted doing all four.

Good to know, I read enough reviews online to make my one good braincell almost explode, that said I'm ordering mine tonight.

Other than the road noise I wrote about, you won't be disapointed. I'm a bit annoyed I didn't do the rears, but that may change very soon.

I have these ventus on my front's in 255/35/18 flavor. I've had Falken 451's, 452, T1-R, T1-S, PS2...

That said, I thought they were rather quite compared to my just prior worn T1-R's, with way more grip. They run wider than equivalent sized tires.

Great great tire, and a no brainer when price/value is taken into consideration.

Car sold to a good new home!

I am running V12s front and rear on my IS350 and I don't know what road noise you are talking about. Maybe it is because you have 2 different brands of tires on your car and not running V12s all around like me. Next time I go for a drive i will really try to see if it does have a road noise but i have never noticed. Will report back soon.

Which OEM's did you have? I hear a bit of a hum that I didn't hear when I only had the OEM's. Not sure if it is on account of the different set, but there is definitely an audible difference.

The difference between tires and brands make a big difference in road noise/hum. I run Dunlop summer and winter brand tires and the winter tires are much, much quieter than the summers.

I have the very same exact tires as you. Hankook is a great brand. I love the price also.
