Alignment problems anyone? // Bridgestone tire swap discussion...

I'm noticing a slight pull to the right, in fact I formerly thought it was due to the crest of the road, but it seems constant on all roads, anyone else?

For those of you who claim to notice NO problems with your alignment, when you take you hand of the wheel do you literally notice NO pull whatsoever? Just trying to make sure that there really IS such a thing as near perfect alignment on this car! :)

Doesn't Lexus offer free alignment checks on new cars, up to a certain mileage?

Yeah I felt a pull to the right untill I put my rims on, I think it maybe the skinny tires falling into the grooves to the right, most streets are angled a little right for drainage etc.

so far there's not been a problem on mine. my local dealer will do allignment checks/tuning for me for free b4 the first 5k. contact your local dealer and mention this as an issue. lexus's customer service is incomparable (well, maybe my local one just kicks @$$).

How strong was the pull, did you notice it on all roads? Hwy and rural?

BTW, Thx Hogchow, I'll check with the dealer.

I have an issue where my IS kinda wanders left-right. I wish I could drive someone elses 350 to compare.

My IS250 actually pulls a little to the right. I went in and had it fixed the same week I picked up my car. When I picked it up, same problem. I've just tried to forget about it for now and it doesn't bug me as much. But maybe down the line I'll have them "fix" it again while it's still free.

What exactly did they do to attempt to fix it the first time around?

According to the invoice:

Cause: Caster Out Of Specs
Correction: Repl Caster Brackets & Alignment

Price for parts came out to $45.70 and the price for labor came out to a whopping $420. Total = $465.70 which came out to be free since it's under warranty.

Mine also pulled to the right...took it back and they realigned the front, and now she drives straight...of coures they tried giving me some crap about did you hit anything...then I gave it back by saying that the QC individual must have been off that day, or it wouldn't have been like this...then they ask what day would be good for me to bring it in to fix.

End of story.

Yeah, me too. Seems like highway driving requires too much work to keep it straight. WTF + wind noise on driver's side.
Getting a bit upset.

No problem here...

Gernby 04-14-2006 04:26 PM

Mine had a pull, but I fixed it just by correcting my tire pressures. The tire pressures varried front / back, left / right by +/- 1 PSI. Getting them exactly perfect fixed the problem. Of course, to do that, you should overfill them a little bit, let it sit in the garage over night (to let them all reach the same temp), then bleed them in very small increments until the fronts are 35 PSI and the rears are 37 PSI (per the manual).

my 350 loves to fade right on all roads at all times

Update

So get this, I dropped the car off at the dealership yesterday, today they tell me they don't have the alignment codes yet... guess I'm stuck in the loaner for a few days... oh well, THEIR gas and mileage! :)

BTW, anyone have a seatbelt recall?? They told me mine fits the bill!? I'm gonna post a seperate topic.. please look for it.
