2006 IS350 Navigation Repair Questions
My 06 navigation went out recently. From reading other Lexus forums it looks like this is a widespread issue. It's not just the screen that isn't responding, the entire unit has lost power. The screen is completely blank, and as you know it controls the climate, etc. The dealer quoted me a new unit replacement for $1,500 (they originally said $2,000 but since this is a known issue, corporate gave me 25% off). I shipped the unit to a reputable company that repairs OEM units and they've quoted me $900 to repair the unit; the DC to DC converter and LCD screen need to be replaced plus it will take 2 weeks to get parts in from Japan. So what do you guys think I should do? $900 for repair with one year warranty or new unit for $1,500 from the dealer?
