I have an 2005 Is300 with about 145k miles on it and I think it’s time for me to do the Timing belt and The water pump. Which kit would you guys recommend to get to do both of the Maintenance repairs? Also is there a tutorial on how to do the Timing belt and water pump?
There will be a lot of stuff if you search, but it's definitely not something for a beginner. I had a shop do mine, usually it runs over $500. I used a Gate's Racing timing belt, and a direct OEM lexus waterpump and other parts.
Look for an AISIN kit on eBay. That's Toyota OEM. It can be around $300. It has everything you need. It has Aisin Water pump and seals, thermostat, mitsuboshi timing belt (no not Mitsubishi, MitsubOshi), serpentine belt, pulley and tensioner, both cam seals, crank shaft seal.
This is the exact same timing kit I bought. This is all Toyota OEM. It's the best kit out there. Everything is running strong. Been 50,000 miles already.
