advice for new owner

or soon to be anyway. I pick up my 2004 IS300 black on black leather sport package on Friday :D Is there any last minute advice, questions I should ask, or things to ask for that someone may have forgotten? This is my first time purchasing a new car and am somewhat nervous (not about the car, about the process). Thanks in advance.

how are you paying for it? financing with dealer, or taking a loan out elsewhere, or cash? how many miles on the car? what is the "sport package" - I'm guessing you mean sport design!? I'm sure everything will go smooth, just give us more info so we can better prepare you. :D

Moved it to newbie forum.
Hope this helps.
Neve pay sticker price, you can always deal them down. Do your homework, know exactly how much the car costs them, and how much you are willing to pay. Also, if you are financing, try to get a loan on your own, instead of using their financial institutions. If any at least know a ballpark figure for the APR (interest).
A trick dealers play is that they give you the car cheap, the ream you with the financing. Again, homework. Same with insurance, do not get insurance thru the dealer.
Do a search in dealers and pricing, you can easily find the actual cost of a new IS.

Make sure you weedle a cargo net out of them for your trunk.

also, at least the first 2+ services should be free
bottle of touch-up paint
free car washes(?) - depends on who's doing the washing
free loaner cars while your car is being serviced
etc....?

thanks for the quick replies!

I am getting the sports design (not package!). It is 5 speed auto and freakin' beautiful. I will try to finangle a cargo net for the trunk. I am paying 29.5K (tax, title, tags and drive away) for it brand new, I think its a pretty good deal. I have gotten my loan through Capital One at 3.65%. The guy a Lexus said he couldn't touch it and let it go. What I did was test drive the car (and fall in love with it!) Then I looked up on the internet to figure about what it would cost and make sure the car had a good reputation. Then I contacted all lexus dealers within 150 miles and had them bid on the exact car I wanted. Took the lowest ones and tried to get them further down. This was the lowest so went ahead and bought it. Will present my blank check from capital one and head on to a lovely golf weekend in Myrtle Beach. CAN'T WAIT!
