brand new set of oem gte pistons and rods we get for 300 when they are available, that's with brand new rings and rod bearings, so for 300 to 400 hp range they are more then sufficient and save a ton of money, I think some of the cheapest decent forged rods ive come across are 500 and up??? and that's just rods not pistons, im not sure if id trust the 250 dollar ones out there, and the GE pistons are fine if you are not trying to lower the compression any more, adding the gte head gasket takes it down in the 9.3 range estimated??? for not having so much boost the higer compression helps it not feel so sluggish, of course that is just my opinion based on our own trial and error.

Mind sharing where this can be found? Unless you meant when they WERE available?

cant say specifically, nothing personal just don't want to post publicly and "a run on the banks" situation happens and there goes the lifes blood of our business... but if you know of a shop that builds brand new 2jz motors that's your source, what happens is they take the brand new short blocks and put all new forged parts, they end up having the OEM GTE pistons and rods available at a decent cost... now that this information is out there im sure the price will skyrocket now with the supply and demand but ohh well it is what it is... get them while you can hahahaha
